Play Mas: A Portrait of Carnival brings together photographs made over twenty-five years in Toronto and Trinidad. The work approaches Carnival not as spectacle, but as a sustained cultural practice shaped by the people who build, inhabit, and carry it across generations.

Moving between performance and self-possession, ceremony and everyday gesture, the photographs consider how Black presence is seen, held, and sustained. Carnival emerges as a living culture—embodied, remembered, and continually remade across time and place.
